Surfing in Nicaragua

Central America's largest country and one of its most consistent surf destinations, Nicaragua is known for warm water and offshore winds that blow almost year-round off Lake Nicaragua. The Pacific coast runs from the beach and reef breaks around San Juan del Sur, Popoyo and Playa Gigante in the south to the quieter, remote waves of León and Chinandega in the north.
